A little place named Fernie

Mt. Hosmer aka Ghostrider mountain, isn't just a one trick pony, oh no. The shadow of the Indian Chief can't be seen on the mountain during the winter time, however there is a different figure watching over the town. That of a St. Bernard lying down. Some of these rock formations are a bit vague, but this one's as clear as day:

Fernie town overlooked by the Three Sisters and Mt. Hosmer

Although i've only skied 4 days this week, i know that next week is going to be relentless, so i took what is hopefully the last full day off the ski hill. Me and Matt had another lunch at The Loaf which was as good as always, then went to chill out at the lodge, but Matt got a bit too cosy snuggled up in Leons bed!

The Happy Couple

With the sun shining straight through the window all afternoon i stepped outside for some fresh air, but ended up going a bit further than i expected. I started walking away from the main highway into the west side Fernie and onto Annex park. The sun was shining and the whole place looked amazing. Luckily i had my camera in my pocket and got some shots of the more residential end of town that i hadn't explored before. Here's a few:

A typical street against the backdrop of the Three Sisters

Again, the Three Sisters mountains from the town

One of the nicest houses in the area, and its for sale! Someone please loan me $649,000!!!

Some type of barn conversion on the edge of town with its own lookout tower!

The epitome of life in the Canadian Rockies - Awesome mountains, dense woodland, cool houses and big trucks!

With my afternoon jaunt done and dusted, me and Matt cooked a banging chilli con carne (with doritos and sour cream - standard) and had a lovely bromantic dinner for 2 to cap off a pretty mellow, but enjoyable day in our little mountain town called Fernie.
