It will be my trial day today to see how well my knee can cope with skiing. To take it a bit easier today i skied with the second group which has a more leisurely pace than the gung-ho attitude of my normal group. The knee held up all day and apart from the odd twinge on right hand turns, it felt pretty strong. It even forced me to ski properly as skiing in the back seat puts a load of pressure through your knees! After a typical chicken wings lunch at Kelseys we headed up Polar Peak, followed by Easter bowl for a bit of powder hunting.
Thirsty Thursday is the apres-ski ritual at the Griz bar on the ski hill until it was time to head back for some dinner before my physio appointment. An ultrasound, stationary bike ride, one legged squats and numerous stretching exercises gave the general prognosis that the knee was on the mend and i would be fine to carry on skiing provided i dont jump in at the deep end! I've even bought a yoga foam roller and a resistance band to keep me loose and limber in my old age...
Tonight was the organised street hockey night for the 11 weekers (although some of the MTM guys joined in to make up team numbers) and was going pretty well until a snowball incedent enraged the beast inside of James and a small fight broke out. Well whats hockey without a fight, eh?!
